#The1Llife International Program Participation in 1L GUEST BLOG Makenzie Way, 1L at the University of Pennsylvania Law School               Not only does international experience stand out on a resume, it can also help secure scholarships and grants… For many of us (myself included), this past week was spring break, meaning I finally escaped the walls of my law school library for more than 24 hours. While most of my friends went home, I spent my week in Japan, representing my university at a Transnational Workshop of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Aside from getting a free trip to Asia, I also had the opportunity to network on a global scale, hear from distinguished professors and practitioners from a range of countries, and explore a topic, and country, that fascinates me.
