ISP Data Limits

Andre Vrignaud has a great set of questions to put to ISPs, on the subject of how they go about imposing data limits on consumers. Here's an abridgement of his list: "Is your bandwidth data cap designed to protect your television distribution business?" "Specifically, are your voice telephony and video programming services excluded?" "Why do different ISPs have different data caps when using similar networks and distribution technology?" "How are your data caps evaluated on an ongoing basis?" "Do you practice selective enforcement of data caps?" We can probably expect data limits to be among the "mitigation measures" that many major ISPs will now impose when the Hollywood trade organizations (the MPAA and the RIAA) accuse individuals of file sharing to circumvent the trust's approved distribution mechanisms.
