Claude Eddie Carter was arrested for sexual exploitation of children. "It's a shock, a real shock," said neighbor Paul Morris. The arrest warrant obtained by CBS Atlanta describes what happened. Carter solicited who he thought was a 14-year-old girl online. It was really a Cobb County police detective. While chatting on Yahoo chats, the warrant said Carter engaged in visual chat of a sexual nature, performing a sexual act on camera for the supposed 14-year-old girl to see. Police searched Carter's Marietta home. They seized his computer. Police said the high tech crime squad will look through it to see if there are anymore victims. Carter's new neighbors are stunned. "His reputation here in the neighborhood is very positive. No one thinks anything but good things," said Morris. "She was real adamant that he was a sweetheart. She always felt good he was living next door," said Bonnie Morris of another neighbor. Carter retired from the Marietta Police Department in 2007, after serving 25 years on the force. A spokesperson for Marietta police said they are aware of the charges but can't discuss another agency's investigation.
