On 15 November 2018, the Financial Stability Board (FSB) published a discussion paper on financial resources to support CCP resolution and the treatment of CCP equity in resolution. The purpose of the discussion paper is to obtain public comment so that is can consider whether there is a need for further guidance on the treatment of CCP equity in resolution. Part 1 of the discussion paper sets out come considerations that could guide relevant authorities in assessing the nature and quality of financial resources needed to absorb losses and other costs and achieve orderly CCP resolution. Part 2 of the discussion paper covers the treatment of CCP equity in resolution. The deadline for responses to the discussion paper is 1 February 2019.
