Military veterans are familiar with the healthcare and education benefits provided by the VA. Long-term care – The VA’s Aid and Attendance benefit offers up to $25,000 annually to pay for nursing homes, assisted-living and other long-term care services for veterans. Surviving spouses qualify for up to $13,560 per year in long-term car benefits. Transfer GI Bill Credits – Many veterans use GI Bill benefits to obtain college degrees and other advanced education.
