Door To Door

We have all heard of "B to B", how about "Door to Door?" Well that's exactly what Honda is doing to make sure the owners of their cars participate in the Takata Airbag Recall. The Wall Street Journal reported on this novel-but decidedly "old school" approach last week. www.wsj.com/articles/honda-goes-door-to-door-recalling-takata-air-bags-1513593. Honda has been tracking down owners at their homes and even leaving flyers with their phone number on the affected vehicles. Time will tell, but sometimes the personal touch goes a long way towards getting the right result.  Dealerships should take note of this "novel" approach to customer relations. Make sure the customer is aware of any open recalls or TSBs. Make those follow up phone calls. The personal touch works. Well, maybe it isn't so "novel", if you are nice there is a gentleman that has been going "door to door" tonight for years!
