Commission Implementing Decisions on temporary equivalence of UK CCPs and CSDs

On 4 April 2019, there was published in the Official Journal of the EU: Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/544 of 3 April 2019 amending Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/2031 determining, for a limited period of time, that the regulatory framework applicable to central counterparties in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is equivalent, in accordance with the European Markets Infrastructure Regulation. The Implementing Decision came into force on 5 April 2019. The Implementing Decision applies in a no-deal Brexit scenario. It does not apply should the Withdrawal Agreement be ratified; and Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/545 of 3 April 2019 amending Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/2030 determining, for a limited period of time, that the regulatory framework applicable to central securities depositories of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is equivalent in accordance with the Central Securities Depositories Regulation.…
