It’s best to talk to people who have used layyers in your area. Just because a lawyer advertises or has a bigger ad than the next guy is no indication that he or she is a better lawyer. It just means they want or need to market themselves. It also means their clients are paying for the marketing costs since that normally gets passed on down the food chain. If you do not know anyone who has used local layrews, you could call two or three different lawyers and ask them if they have worked in the area of your interest, what percentage of their practice is spent in that area, how much they charge and, if they are not able to help you, if they could give you two or three names of other attorneys who they think may be helpful. Good luck.
