Passenger Disappears from Celebrity Cruise Ship Millennium

The Los Angeles Times is reporting a 65-year-old woman is missing from the Celebrity cruise ship Millennium. The passenger was last seen aboard the Millennium as the cruise ship sailed into Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on the night of May 2nd. Once a missing passenger is reported, maritime law requires the cruise line to perform a reasonable search and rescue operation. Rescue crews from the U.S. Coast Guard were searching for the passenger with a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from San Diego and a Hercules C-130 aircraft from Sacramento. The Millennim was on a 15 day repositioning voyage from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Vancouver, British Columbia.
