New Death Prompts New Ford Recalls

The Takata airbag scandal has already claimed 22 lives globally with the majority of those deaths concentrated in the United States. The most recent death came after both Honda and Ford decided to expand their recalls to additional vehicles. The faulty airbags include multiple manufacturers, including Toyota, Honda, Ford, BMW, General Motors, Jaguar, Subaru, Mercedes-Benz, and Mazda, among others. Now Ford is urging the owners of their Ranger brand of trucks that have been affected to stop driving as the New York Daily News reports. Ford is urging the owners of some 30,000 affected Ranger trucks to stop driving the vehicles immediately and contact their dealership. The recommendation comes due to an increased risk that a Takata airbag may rupture in an accident, seriously injuring the occupants of the vehicle.
