New blogs joining the LexBlog Network for the week of 9/19-9/23

Somehow, someway, it is 80 degrees outside in Seattle right now. With that in mind-and this introduction written after describing the amazing ten launches and redesigns we got out the door this week-I'm going to go out and enjoy it. An aside: if you haven't gotten a chance to see it and are interested in further insight on the subject, we have a post by Nick Shekeryk over at LXBN with some of the Network's best criminal defense attorneys responding to the execution of Troy Davis. Enjoy the weekend, everyone. Littler continues to add to their impressive collection of publications with the launch of their tenth on the LexBlog Network: the e-Discovery Case Law Update. Offering insight and commentary on cases at the state and federal level, the authoring lawyers act as active intelligence agents keeping employers aware of impactful e-discovery litigation. The lawyers at San Francisco law firm Adler & Colvin make their debut on the LexBlog Network with the launch of their blog, Nonprofit Law Matters. Already off to a quick start in terms of content, this publication-in their own words-"provides updates and analysis regarding philanthropy, charity, and other exempt organization issues." Like Littler, Seyfarth Shaw is another firm adding to its collection of publications on the LexBlog Network as the launch of the ERISA & Employee Benefits Litigation Blog makes six for the AmLaw 200 firm. The authors of this publication promise to go "behind the headlines" in offering up in-depth analysis of benefits litigation affecting businesses. LexBlog is proud to have another one of largest Canadian law firms on the Network as McCarthy T├ętrault gets things going with the launch of their first publication, Canadian M&A Perspectives. On this publication, the firm's lawyers offer up their perspectives on developments in M&A and private equity, provide comments on the impact of changes to corporate-commercial laws as they may affect M&A activity, relate insights derived from their experience handling large and complex transactions, and share best practices from their adventures in deal-making. The launch of the Business Litigation Alert makes it five blogs on the LexBlog Network for Gibbons. Jennifer A. Hradil and Christopher Walsh serve as editors on this publication, which will cover legal developments in all aspects of litigation, but more specifically in the areas of construction, insurance, securities, class action and appellate law. It's amazing how a blog can be very niche-oriented and yet very broad at the same time, and that's exactly what we have Davis Wright Tremaine's Payment Law Advisor. Combining a complex approach with a more advanced layout, we have the authoring attorneys breaking down developments in the payment industry from all sides, whether they be regulatory, within privacy and security or more related to deals and technology. Stark & Stark launched their first blog on the LexBlog Network way back in February of 2004. This week they launch their sixth in the form of the Mass Torts Law Blog. The authors, thus far, have kept the commentary centered around defective drugs and medical devices but look for the team to add to that with analysis of environmental hazards and catastrophic events. The eighth new blog to join the LexBlog Network this week, and the first from AmLaw 200 firm Schiff Harden, is the ERISA Litigation & Benefits Blog. The publication is authored by the firm's ERISA team as they opine on topics that include fiduciary breach, provider fees and regulatory pronouncements. Also worth noting: The GT L&E Blog is the first of two blogs to get a new look this week. Breaking down the abbreviation, lawyers from Greenberg Traurig's Labor & Employment Practice offer up insight on topics that include abritration, benefits, disability, privacy, whistelblowers and wage and hour law. We end this monumental wrap-up of launches with a fun one: the re-design of Blog Crystal, a blog that is now authored by the Crystal Mountain Ski Patrol. Ski patrollers Corey Meador, Kim Kircher and Christina Von Mertens give skiiers an expert's view of snow conditions, potential hazards, safety best practices, jump-building and events. This will be one for those of us in the Pacific Northwest to keep an eye on as ski season approaches.
