More than 280 people sick in McDonald’s salad parasite outbreak

By: Julia Braham CHICAGO (July 27, 2018) – Since Thursday, federal health officials have reported an additional 123 cases of cyclospora infections in an outbreak linked to McDonald’s salads. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have reported the total number of laboratory-confirmed illnesses from this outbreak is 286. There have been at least 11 infected individuals that have been hospitalized. Individuals in Connecticut, Michigan, Tennessee, and Virginia bought their salads in Illinois and the Florida individual bought their salad in Kentucky. The US Food and Drug Administration is working with McDonald’s to find the source of the outbreak through common ingredients…
