MARTA Drags Feet in Compensating Accident

If anyone could handle an accident where the fault was clear and was admitted, it would be a lawyer. That’s not the case in what happened with a commuter who was in an accident with a MARTA bus. Fox 5 Atlanta reports on the story where MARTA has yet to pay a motorist for an accident where they admitted fault. The accident occurred on Friday, May 12. Attorney Braxton Davis was at a busy intersection in Druid Hills in the right lane with a MARTA bus one lane over. The MARTA bus veered over into Braxton’s lane, forcing him onto the curb. The police report cited the MARTA bus driver for an improper turn. MARTA eventually declared Davis’ car totaled. By December 6, Davis no longer had a rental car, was still paying on the BMW that was totaled, and was unable to get a new vehicle until MARTA paid off his car loan. It took MARTA a month to admit fault and put Davis in a rental car. Davis, an attorney, had to hire a lawyer, and eventually came seeking the help of Fox…
