Marriage is a legal union between two people, but when one or both of those people no longer wish to be in the marriage, they may feel it is necessary to get a divorce. If you are considering ending your marriage, it is important to know the difference between legal separation, annulment, and divorce.  Legal Separation Couples who are considering a permanent split may separate for a time if they are trying to work through their differences.
