    If I understand your qotueisn correctly, you must do the following:1) First state the null and alternative hypothesis. The null hypothesis is always that there is no statistically significant difference/assocation between variables. The alternative hypothesis is the opposite, there is a significant difference/association between variables2) You perform the statistical procedure to test the hypothesis3) If the results of the statistical procedure are significant, then you reject the null hypothesis. If the results are not statistically significant, they you accept the null hypothesis. Make sense?
