Oswald Gruebel is history. On the other hand, if you had been brought in to restructure Switzerland's flagship bank, and a "rogue trader" racked up 2.3 billion with a "b" losses before he was caught during your watch, you might think that getting out of Dodge was a good idea, too! I know a kid who was fired from a job pumping gas. He was shortchanged by some shortchange experts when the station was busy. The till was twenty dollars short the next day. So he was fired. Oswald Grueber at UBS was manning the pumps when the 2.3 billion dollar loss hit. So I think he might have made the right decision by quitting. After all, that looks better on anybody's resume.
