The opioid epidemic in America is killing more than a hundred people a day. Nearly $80B is being spent every year in health care costs, treatment programs, and additional costs to states, cities and counties. For decades, drug manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers – created the pill spill crisis and to this day continue to profit from it – having largely avoided taking any responsibility for what they’ve done. Things are starting to change. Jonathan Novak is a former litigator for the Drug Enforcement Administration. As part of the DEA, he helped hold drug companies accountable whenever they failed to comply with federal rules and regulations.
