Embattled Boeing now facing issues with Dreamliner aircraft

CHICAGO (April 26, 2019) – In the wake of several crashes involving Boeing’s 737 MAX 8 jet, the aviation giant faces intense scrutiny over the manufacturing of their crown jewel aircraft, the 787 Dreamliner, at their North Charleston, South Carolina manufacturing plant. As outlined in a New York Times report, concerns point to the company’s priority of profits over safety, including damaged aircraft, production delays, defective manufacturing, debris left in precarious aircraft locations, and pressure to not report violations to federal regulators. Several former and current employees, many speaking to the report on the condition of anonymity, cited foreign object debris – such as metal shavings near crucial flight control wiring components, building equipment and tools left over in planes, and even a whole ladder left in tail of an aircraft.
