Megee v Carmine, a Michigan Court of Appeals decision, dealt with the consequences of the husband's post-divorce waiver of retirement pay in favor of collecting combat-related special compensation (CRSC). The court of appeals held that Megee had to pay Carmine the amount of money she would have received from his disposable retired pay and he could pay it from any resources he wanted–even if that meant he was paying it from the CRSC payments to him.
