Carnival Paradise Passenger Goes Overboard, Coast Guard Ends Search

A man who went missing from the Carnival Paradise on Tuesday has not been found. The U.S. Coast Guard, called in to search for the missing passenger, suspended it’s search on Wednesday. Carnival Paradise left Tampa on Tuesday headed for Key West. The man was reported missing by 10 a.m. while the ship was 85 miles West of Fort Myers, Florida in the Gulf of Mexico. The Coast Guard searched in vain, ending their search on Wednesday evening. Passengers and crew members have been going overboard with frequency this year. Following the incident, Carnival Cruise Lines released the following statement: “On Tuesday morning, a male guest went overboard as the ship was sailing from Tampa to Key West, Florida. The Coast Guard was notified and is currently conducting a search for the guest. We are cooperating fully with all authorities.
