Brakes Lost On Lookout Mountain In Chattanooga

The men and women who drive tractor trailers for a living often are some of the best-trained drivers on the roads. Many have had to go to a special school and must maintain a specific driver’s license in order to do their jobs. However, mechanical failures can occur and these can lead to accidents. The Telegraph reports on an accident where a tractor-trailer lost its brakes and hit a woman head-on in Lookout Mountain. The accident occurred at about 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. James Wilson was driving an International Prostar that was carrying hazardous materials and lost his brakes coming down Ochs Highway in Chattanooga. He wanted to try and put the truck in a ditch but was unable to slow the vehicle sufficiently to do so. His truck crossed the center line and sideswiped two vehicles heading up the mountain.
